Man killed in Southeast 82nd Avenue shooting identified by police

Officers arrived to find a man dead in the parking lot of a motel on Southeast 82nd near Flavel Street on Jan. 19, the Portland Police Bureau said.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland police closed down a section of Southeast 82nd Avenue on Jan. 19 night after a deadly shooting outside of a motel.

Officers responded around 8 p.m. to a report of a shooting in the Brentwood-Darlington neighborhood, on Southeast 82nd near Flavel Street. They arrived to find a man dead from a gunshot wound in the parking lot of a motel.

On Friday afternoon, the Portland Police Bureau (PBB) identified the man as 25-year-old Rametheus Clenese Hill from Fairview. Hill's family has been notified, and they are requesting privacy at this time.

Detectives from the Portland Police Bureau's Homicide Unit responded to investigate. Police did not make any immediate arrests, and PPB said it would not release any information on suspects for the time being.
