KGW earns 39 Regional Emmy nominations

KGW earned more nominations than any other Portland commercial television station, and it was the only Portland commercial station nominated for overall excellence.

PORTLAND, Ore. — KGW has been nominated 39 times in the 2019 Northwest Emmy® awards by the Northwest chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) in a competition that includes the Seattle market. KGW earned more nominations than any other Portland commercial television station, and it was the only Portland commercial station nominated for overall excellence.

The nominations for outstanding work spanned every aspect of journalism from best morning and evening newscasts, breaking news, spot news, general assignment reporting, feature news reporting, business/consumer reporting, crime story/series, health/science story, politics/government story, environment sports-news story/series, environmental program/special, continuing coverage, and interview/discussion program/special. 

The KGW marketing team was nominated three times for best news promo single spot, in addition to best news promo campaign, best community/public service spot and best commercial.

Nominations for individual achievement included best news anchor, best sports anchor, best weather anchor, best reporters, best photographers, best editor and best video journalist.
