LA CENTER, Wash. — Police are still looking for a vehicle they said may have hit and killed a woman on Interstate 5 southbound near La Center on Sunday morning.

Washington State Patrol troopers were called to the scene of a car versus pedestrian crash on I-5 near milepost 18 at around 9:40 a.m. Sunday.

At the scene, they found Kendra Fain, 33, lying face down on the right shoulder of the road.

Troopers said Fain, a resident of Sutherlin, Ore., suffered fatal injuries as a result of being hit by an SUV in a hit-and-run crash. Traffic in the area was impacted for approximately three hours as an investigation was conducted.
