Oregon Ducks vs. Virginia in Sweet 16: Reporter notebook

KGW sports anchor Orlando Sanchez is in Louisville to cover the Ducks during their NCAA Tournament run.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The amazing run came to an end for the Oregon Ducks on Thursday.

Oregon had won 10 straight games dating back to the regular season, including 4 straight wins in the Pac-12 Tournament to win the championship and earn an automatic bid in the NCAA Tournament.

Oregon defeated No. 5 seed Wisconsin in the NCAA Tournament's first round and then beat No. 13 seed UC Irvine in the second round to advance to the Sweet 16. The Ducks will play top-seeded Virginia on Thursday in the South Regional semifinal.

Oregon’s NCAA Tournament run comes to an end. No. 1 seed Virginia tops Ducks 53-49 in Sweet 16.
