Altercation led to shots fired in Clackamas Town Center parking lot near Cheesecake factory, deputies say

A person with a gunshot wound went to a local hospital after the incident, the sheriff's office said. It's unclear if that person was injured in the shooting.

HAPPY VALLEY, Ore. — Two groups of people were involved in an altercation April 7 that led to gunshots being fired outside the Cheesecake Factory at Clackamas Town Center, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) said

Multiple people called 911 around 6 p.m. to report the altercation and the gunfire in the parking lot on the south side of the mall. When deputies arrived, they did not find anyone who was involved in the incident or anyone who was injured. They did see shell casings in the parking lot and damage to a window at the Cheesecake Factory. No one inside the restaurant was injured, CCSO said.

CCSO is looking for public help to identify seven people connected to the shooting. Investigators reviewed security footage to determine possible suspects involved in in the incident.

One witness told KGW they were sitting inside Cheesecake Factory when they heard several gunshots. The witness said one bullet hit the restaurant, though many customers didn't realize bullets were fired.

“I don’t think people really understood what was going on,” Coisha Graham, who witnessed the shooting said.

Graham was at the Cheesecake Factory with her family and four-year-old daughter. When she saw a bullet hit the Cheesecake Factory, she ducked underneath the table with her daughter.

“It’s kind of a scary situation," said Sandra Graham, who also witnessed the shooting. "But then again you know, God’s got us, so you know we start, of course praying.”

“The Town Center has a lot of security cameras, and so there’s a lot of footage to review and look over,” Ross Clemson, the Public Information Officer for Clackamas County Sheriff's Office said.
