Police identify woman killed in shooting outside Northeast Portland apartment complex

The victim of the fatal shooting was Nicole Lashawn Davis. She was 40 years old.

PORTLAND, Ore. — A woman is dead after being shot in the Parkrose Heights Neighborhood Wednesday evening. Police identified the woman on Friday as Nicole Lashawn Davis. She was 40 years old.

The medical examiner determined that Davis' death was a homicide by gunshot wound. This is the 66th homicide in Portland in 2023.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting around 4 p.m. outside of an apartment complex on Northeast Weidler Street in Portland. They found Davis dead at the scene. No arrests have been made. 

The Portland Police Bureau's homicide unit is investigating.

During the investigation, Northeast Weidler Street was closed between Northeast 108th and Northeast 112th avenues.
