GRESHAM, Ore. — Police are investigating after a 16-year-old boy was shot at a classic car show in Gresham Saturday afternoon.

Around 3:15 p.m., Gresham Police began receiving calls about a shooting in a parking lot in the 1800 block of Northwest Fairview Drive. When officers responded, they found a teenager with a gunshot wound. A window of a business and a truck also appeared to have damage from bullets.

Officers applied a tourniquet, and paramedics transported the teenager, who has not been identified, to the hospital. He is expected to survive, police said.

“It was pretty crazy,” Nick, a Flying Pie Pizzeria employee, told KGW. He said there were 40 people in the pizzeria when the incident happened.

"All the kids went into the back with Karen, the manager, and we had all the parents out in the lobby,” he recalled. “(The man) took off running down the sidewalk right past our door as we were locking it and shooting back toward this truck, then took off into the Black Bear Diner ... we watched him peel out and take off up Burnside.”

Nick added that he heard the teenager got shot in the leg and that "the cops let us know that he was all right.”

Megan Caron, who was attending the car show, called the scene "chaos." She said that her husband saw the teenager get shot in the leg and went to help him.

But it wasn't until the dust cleared that she realized her truck also had some damage. Caron told KGW that it looked like her truck had been hit at least three times, including one of the tires.

The parking lot has reopened to the public.

Police have interviewed witnesses and are still investigating to determine what led up to the shooting. There have been no arrests as of Saturday evening.

Police told KGW that they do not believe there is any danger to the public.
