TURNER, Ore. -- An Aumsville girl hurt in a crash two days after she graduated from high school has died from her injuries, her family announced Thursday.

Lindsey R. Magnusson, 18, was pulling out of the Cascade High School parking lot at around 8 a.m. on June 7 when her car was struck by a pickup truck, said spokesman Don Thomson of the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

Magnusson was taken to the Salem Hospital, where she remained in critical condition for nearly a week, Thomson said. Her father announced on the family's CaringBridge website Thursday morning that Magnusson's body was no longer supporting life.

Very early this morning Lindsey's brain pressure rose to a level that left her in a condition that would not support life, her father said in the statement. True to Lindsey's soul she had requested to be an organ donor to honor the wonderful gift her little brother received. She had made that decision long before this tragic accident so we are taking steps to honor her request to leave this last gift.

Her family and I want to thank you all for your continued love, support and most of all prayers, he said.

Counselors were available at Cascade High School to talk with students about the incident.
