PORTLAND, Ore. — With another round of winter weather set to arrive on Tuesday, school districts across Oregon and Washington have announced that classes are canceled. Many school districts were closed on Monday for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, but freezing rain in the forecast is expected to create icy road conditions on Tuesday.
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued an Ice Storm Warning for much of northwestern Oregon and southwest Washington. Icing is expected to start late Tuesday morning and may last into Wednesday morning. Some areas may see up to half an inch of accumulated ice.
Portland Public Schools (PPS), Oregon's largest school district, announced late Monday afternoon that it would close schools Tuesday after its leaders held a meeting to "review circumstances and consider options."
Below is a look at what school districts are planning for Tuesday, Jan. 16, organized by county (as of Tuesday afternoon).
Benton County
- Corvallis School District: School is canceled and the district is closed. More info here.
Clackamas County
- Canby School District: Closed, no preschool. All activities canceled.
- Colton School District: Closed, no preschool.
- Estacada School District: Virtual school day. Campus will be closed and all activities will be canceled. Estacada High School will have an area open for people to access internet, power, heat and water from 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
- Gladstone School District - Gladstone schools closed Tuesday, January 16th. All activities and events are canceled.
- Lake Oswego School District: All district and school facilities will remain closed, and all classes, services, activities, and events will be canceled through Tuesday, Jan. 16. More info here.
- Molalla River School District: Closed.
- North Clackamas School District: All schools closed. No before/after-school care. All activities and athletics canceled. More info here.

- West Linn-Wilsonville School District: All schools will be closed due to current icy road conditions, freezing temperatures, and forecasts for additional icy conditions. Clark County (Washington state)
- Battle Ground Public Schools: Closed, No preschool. Athletic activities and Community Education classes canceled. More info here.

- Skamania School District 2: Closed due to frozen pipes.

- Parkrose School District: Closed Tuesday due to a previously scheduled professional development day that will now be virtual.

Marion, Polk, Linn & Benton County
