PORTLAND, Ore. — An Alaska Airlines flight made an emergency landing at the Portland International Airport (PDX) Sunday morning after hitting a bird, according to the Port of Portland.
At around 7:50 a.m. on Sunday, Alaska Airlines Flight 300 from Portland, Oregon to Orlando, Florida had just departed when the crew reported that the plane hit a bird, the Port of Portland said.
The Port of Portland also said that an emergency was declared out of an abundance of caution, and the plane returned to the gate.
Guests were rebooked to Orlando, and the plane was removed from service for inspection.
