PORTLAND, Ore. -- A man suspected of setting another man on fire at a Happy Valley Denny's restaurant in April will be sent to the Oregon State Hospital for treatment and mental evaluation.
Investigators say 24-year-old Deshaun Swanger is seen in surveillance video walking into the restaurant on April 19, sitting down and dousing the stranger next to him with gasoline.
He was arrested the following day at a nearby transitional house and has been charged with attempted murder.

On Tuesday, Swanger was back in a Clackamas County courtroom, where the discussion centered on his mental state and whether he's fit for trial.
A licensed psychologist testified that Swanger suffers from psychosis, hears voices, and believes he is being controlled by others through a microchip in his brain.
Both the prosecutor and defense attorney agreed he should be sent to the Oregon State Hospital for treatment. The judge signed off on it.
Swanger's mental condition will be reevaluated in October to see if he's capable of standing trial.
The victim, 69-year-old Scott Ranstrom, remains in critical condition at Legacy Emanuel hospital. His family is raising money for medical expenses with a GoFundMe page.
