VANCOUVER, Wash. -- Heritage High School in Vancouver was in temporary lockdown status Tuesday afternoon after receiving a bomb threat over the phone.

Both Evergreen Public Schools and Heritage High School reported the lockdown on Twitter after receiving a threatening phone call around 1:00 p.m.

According to the Clark County sheriff's office, the phone call was a bomb threat.

Heritage High School asked parents not to come to the school until they received word the area was safe. Instead, parents were asked to wait at the former Albertsons location on the north side of Padden Parkway.ID=17265745

All access points were closed while police investigated, school officials said.

The lockdown was lifted just after 3 p.m. Buses would be running around 4 p.m. and parents were allowed to pick up their students at the school.

The Clark County Sheriff's Office later said nothing suspicious was located at the school.

A Heritage High School student tweeted a picture to KGW from inside a classroom, where students were on lockdown. He said students were fine.

The student said police were searching cars.

Another student tweeted a picture to KGW of her teacher getting out what she called the "lock down bucket."

The bucket has candy, playing cards and cups to use. In addition, the students said they would have to use the bucket as a bathroom if they were unable to leave the classroom for several hours.
