Vehicle rolls over and catches fire near Tigard; two dead and third critically injured

Firefighters work to rescue those trapped inside the wreckage

TIGARD, Ore. — Two cars collided early Saturday morning and one of the vehicles flipped over onto its top, catching fire. Two people died and a third suffered life-threatening injuries, Tigard Police said.

Emergency crews were called to Southwest Roy Rogers Road and Potomac Road around 6:20 a.m.

Firefighters with Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue put out the fire and rescued those trapped inside the wreckage. The lone survivor was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

The victims have not yet been identified.

There is no word yet what caused the crash. The Washington County Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team is investigating.

Roy Rogers Road was closed between SW Beef Bend Road and SW Bull Mountain Road until late in the morning for an investigation.
