PORTLAND, Ore. — A driver accused of driving his car past police barricades at the Shamrock Run on Sunday and almost hitting a runner is facing several charges, Portland police said.
In an social post from the traffic division of the Portland Police Bureau (PPB), they stated that a driver was arrested for DUII and reckless endangerment after driving past a police barricade at the Shamrock Run, nearly hitting a participant.
Police responded at 9:54 a.m. to reports that the driver had gone through a barricade at Southwest Barbur Boulevard and South Hamilton Street. The driver was pulled over and arrested in the Burlingame Fred Meyer parking lot. He had open alcohol in the car, according to PPB.
No one was injured, police said.
Brian W. Rhone, 62, is charged with DUII-alcohol (.10 BAC), reckless driving and reckless endangerment.
