Portland property owners and tenants can report damage from recent storms. Here's how

The city of Portland launched an online tool for property owners and tenants to report damage to buildings due to the January 2024 snow and ice storms.

PORTLAND, Ore. — The city of Portland recently announced the launch of an online tool for property owners and tenants to report damage to buildings due to the January 2024 snow and ice storms.

Portland is encouraging property owners, tenants or residents within the Portland area to share any details to help the city recover from the recent winter storms.

Here's how it works: anyone who falls under any of the above categories can fill out the damage self-assessment form at this link.

Once the form has been filled out and submitted, the Portland Bureau of Emergency Management will collect the data and use it to better understand the damage that resulted from the storms. The data also helps support efforts for the city to secure state and federal disaster recovery assistance.

The city said that sharing information through the assessment tool does not guarantee financial assistance from local, state or federal disaster relief organizations for repairs.

The online tool also supports the work of inspectors from the Bureau of Development Services, who are conducting assessments of property damage across the city.
