OREGON CITY, Ore. — Police have placed in custody an armed robber accused of targeting a gas station in Oregon City on Friday.

On March 22 just before 11:30 p.m., police responded to an armed robbery at the Circle K gas station on Highway 213. No one was injured. Officers were put out a search for the robber, identified as 42-year-old Thomas Groat, Oregon City police said.

Detectives following up on the case saw Groat around 10:40 a.m. on Monday near Molalla Avenue and Gaffney Lane. Police asked people living nearby to stay inside and lock their doors, but officers did not find Groat and the shelter-in-place order was lifted.
