Portland burglar steals thousands after falling through restaurant ceiling

Video surveillance shows the man falling through the ceiling of Top Burmese in Northwest Portland.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland police are searching for a man who broke into a business in Northwest Portland, fell through the roof, and stole thousands of dollars of inventory and equipment. 

According to Portland police, the man, along with other suspects, broke into the former Starbucks location on Northwest 23rd Avenue early Sunday morning. They then climbed through the ceiling, cut a hole in the wall to Top Burmese, and fell into the kitchen area. 

Video surveillance shows the moment the man fell through the roof of the restaurant space. Afterward, he appears to search the kitchen space and then climbs back through where he fell.
