BEAVERTON, Ore. — Beaverton police have arrested a man believed to have threatened a family during a road rage incident last Friday. Images from cameras on the family's vehicle showed a motorcyclist striking the car.

The road rage incident happened around 3 p.m. Friday on Southwest Murray Boulevard near Southwest Allen Boulevard in Beaverton. A young mother, who asked not to be named, said she was driving her children home from school when a man on a motorcycle started screaming and yelling at her.

"I was on the right-hand lane, changing to the left hand lane. That's when the guy felt like I cut him off," the woman told KGW earlier this week. "(He was) yelling and screaming at me, cussing at me. Telling me to watch my blind spot."

The family's car is a Tesla, which is equipped with multiple cameras on different sides of the vehicle. Beaverton police said the cameras captured the motorcycle rider hitting and kicking the car.

"At one point, Joseph Lee appears to pull a knife and reportedly tells the victim he is going to kill her," the Beaverton Police Department said in a statement.

After media shared images of the incident, Beaverton police said they received a tip identifying the motorcycle rider as 33-year-old Joseph Lee of Portland.

By the time police identified Lee, they found that he was already lodged at the Washington County Jail. Beaverton police said Lee had been arrested May 18 by Washington County Sheriff's deputies on charges for driving under the influence, unlawful use of a weapon, menacing and disorderly conduct.

Those charges stemmed from an incident around 9 p.m. on May 18 when Lee allegedly pulled a knife on a man at Brooklyn Trattoria, an Italian restaurant in Bethany.

Lee now faces additional charges of menacing, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief for the May 17 road rage incident, Beaverton police said. He remains in jail, but is scheduled to appear in court at 2 p.m. Thursday.
