CAMAS, Wash. -- A Camas woman has been charged with attempted murder after she told police she stabbed her boyfriend with a sword early Saturday morning.
Emily Javier, 30, called 911 shortly before 2 a.m. and reported she thought her boyfriend was dead.
Camas police responded to the home in the 2000 block of Northeast Garfield Street and found Javier's boyfriend, 29-year-old Alex Lovell, still alive but with several life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a hospital and is in critical condition, police said.
When officers arrived, Javier walked into the front yard with her hands up and was taken into custody.
After obtaining a search warrant for the home, detectives seized a samurai sword and knives.
Police believe Javier's attack was motivated by jealousy.
Javier was booked into the Clark County Jail for first-degree attempted murder.
An investigation is ongoing.
