PORTLAND, Ore. — Sara Kohn is a 5th grade teacher at Lewis Elementary school in Portland. Brenda Braxton sat down to ask her what it's like being a teacher.

1. Math or History?

Ms. Kohn: Math.

2. English or Science?

Ms. Kohn: English.

3. Which fictional teacher are you most like?

Ms. Kohn: Maybe Ms. Honey from Matilda, Ms. Frizzle, and a little bit of Dumbledore- wise, I like to think, and definitely old (laughs)!

4. What is your favorite dish from the cafeteria?

Ms. Kohn: None of them. Just kidding! I shouldn’t say that. The food quality has gotten better and so I like to hit the salad bar.

5. What’s the funniest or most embarrassing thing that has happened to you in the classroom?

Ms. Kohn: I don’t think I would tell you my absolute most embarrassing thing. (laughs) I can’t do that on TV!

6. If you could take your students on a field trip anywhere in the world where would you take them?

Ms. Kohn: Seeing our nation’s capital is pretty phenomenal. I got to go when I was in high school and it changed me. The history and how our government works, I think, is pretty unique.

Ms. Kohn: I love teaching but I would try and do really good things. I would absolutely travel, get a personal trainer, a chef. But I would volunteer.
