PORTLAND -- Orchard Supply Hardware of San Jose, California, is opening new stores in Tigard and Beaverton, and will hold a job fair Tuesday and Wednesday for over 150 positions.
Those interested can pre-apply online or show up at the Cascade Crest Banquet Center at the Oregon Zoo from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Full-time, part-time and temporary positions include cashier, sales associate, customer service, stocking and receiving/pickup.
We've been looking at the area for a long time and it really matches to our company and what we're doing, Orchard spokesman Joe Kelley said. We're the big, small box or the small, big box.
The stores are bigger than an Ace or True Value, but smaller than a Home Depot or Lowe's.
We're more of a repair (type store), small remodel, decorate ... outdoor living is a big piece of our business, Kelley said.
