PORTLAND, Oregon — We are officially headed into the final weekend of April, and we're another week closer to summer, meaning more to do across the Rose City. Although rain is in the forecast, there are plenty of indoor events this weekend.

If you're looking for something fun to do, you have options this weekend — from a Southeast Asian cultural festival to a cheese festival in Central Point. No matter what you're in the mood for, there's something for everyone.

Here are 8 things to do around Portland this weekend. 

¡Soy Yo! Art Exhibit by Mika Martinez 

When: Now until April 30 
Where: Portland Center Stage at The Armory, 128 Northwest 11th Avenue, Portland, OR
What's going on: The Portland Center Stage present ¡Soy Yo!, a multi-media project created by Mika Martinez. Martinez describes herself as a facilitator of memories and a creator of experiences. She's a visual storyteller using photography as her medium. Her exhibit, ¡Soy Yo!, examines and celebrates Latinx identity featuring over 50 portraits of the Hispanic/Latino community in Portland. The gallery exhibit is on display in the PGE Gallery Lobby. Admission is free.

New Year In The Park 

When: April 27
Where: Glenhaven Park, 7900 Northeast Siskiyou Street, Portland, OR
What's going on: The largest and most important traditional Southeast Asian cultural festival returns to Portland this weekend. The event offers Southeast Asian communities an opportunity to celebrate their cultural heritage with the general public. The festival will showcase cultural dance and music performances, as well as food and merchandise. The festival aims to highlight Southeast Asian communities in the Portland metro area.

A Year with Frog and Toad

When: April 6-28
Where: The Judy Kafoury Center for Youth Arts, 1000 Southwest Broadway, Portland
What's going on: Get ready to leap out of hibernation with one of Portland's latest musicals. The musical "A Year with Frog and Toad" is based on Arnold Lobel's well-known characters, Frog and Toad. Join best friends Frog and Toad as they hop, sing and dance through a year of adventure. The show highlights the value of friendship and has a jazzy, upbeat score that will have the whole family hopping on their toes.

Snap! Y2K: The Happy Face Party

When: April 26
Where: Holocene, 1001 Southeast Morrison Street, Portland
What's going on: With rain in the forecast this weekend, why not enjoy some nostalgic cheer at the Snap! Y2K: The Happy Face Party this weekend at the Holocene. The smiley-themed event will take you back to the days of Lisa Frank, landlines and neon attire. The encouraged dress code is full black, yellow, neon and tie-dye attire with nostalgic sounds of hip-hop, rock, R&B, rave and pop jams.

Oregon Cheese Festival

When: April 27 - 28
Where: Jackson County Expo, 1 Peninger Rd, Central Point
What's going on: Are you one who enjoys indulging in the culinary delicacy of cheese? Well, here's an event for you. This weekend, a farmer's market-style event celebrates cheese and everything that goes with it. Sample and purchase artisan cheese from across the state and beyond, plus specialty foods, beer, wine and cider with over 100 vendors.

82nd Avenue of Roses Parade 

When: April 27
Where: East Port Plaza and 82nd, Portland
What's going on: The annual parade is back for its 18th year this weekend in Southeast Portland. The parade was started in 2007 by a small group of businesses, friends and neighbors with the purpose of showing off and welcoming people to the neighborhoods around 82nd Avenue. 

The parade starts at 9:30 a.m. at East Port Plaza on 82nd and travel north on 82nd Avenue, and finishing at Southeast 78th before noon. For more information, click here.

🌸Cherry blossoms around Portland metro area🌸

Where: Multiple locations across Portland
What's going on: Portland's cherry blossoms aren’t to be missed. Around this time of year, you can catch them across the Portland metro area. They are a sight to be seen down at the waterfront; specifically, Tom McCall Waterfront Park is a great place to catch them.

Hood River Cider Fest

When: April 27
Where: Hood River Event Site, Portway Avenue, Hood River
What's going on: The 9th annual Hood River Cider Fest returns this spring. The fest offers cider drinkers an opportunity to sample ciders from Oregon and Washington's finest cider makers. About 30 cideries will be participating this year. With rain in the forecast this weekend, grab your glass and go find your new favorite cider.
