Skiers, snowboarders enjoy fresh snow on Mt. Hood

"Fantastic day, beautiful weather, nice crowds, kids out of school — you can't beat it," said General Manager Brett Fischer.

GOVERNMENT CAMP, Ore. — The folks at Mt. Hood Skibowl say the conditions are perfect.

“Fantastic day, beautiful weather, nice crowds, kids out of school — you can’t beat it,” said General Manager Brett Fischer.

The weekend brought more than a foot and a half of fresh powder at Skibowl, on top of a 30-inch snowpack.

Families on the slopes Monday said the Presidents' Day holiday was perfect timing.

“We’re already looking at the schedule to see if we can skip another day of work and school and come up here," said Amy Cook, who was on the mountain Monday skiing with her son Harry.

Other skiers and snowboarders said the "fantastic" weekend weather made all the difference.

Night skiing is going strong and the Upper Bowl is open for advanced skiers.
