Brackets revealed for Phil Knight Invitational in Portland

Oregon and Portland are in one bracket. Portland State and Gonzaga are in the other. The games begin Thursday, Nov. 23, at the Moda Center and Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

PORTLAND, Ore. -- The brackets have been set for the first round of the Phil Knight Invitational.

Oregon and Portland are in the eight-team Victory Bracket. The Ducks will play UConn at the Moda Center on Thursday, Nov. 23, in the evening session of the first round. The time of the game is yet to be determined.

The Pilots will play defending national champion North Carolina on Nov. 23 in the afternoon session, also at the Moda Center. Other first-round matchups in the Victory Bracket include Oklahoma vs. Arkansas and Michigan State vs. Georgetown.

Portland State and Gonzaga are in the Motion Bracket, which features eight teams. The Vikings face Duke on Thursday Nov. 23 in the afternoon session at Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Game time will be announced at a later date.

The Bulldogs face Ohio State in the evening session on Nov. 23, also at the Coliseum. The other two matchups in the Motion Bracket are Texas vs. Butler and Stanford vs. Florida.

BACKGROUND: Major college basketball tournament coming to Portland

At the end of the tournament, two champions will be crowned, one from each bracket.

The tournament begins Nov. 23 and runs through Sunday, Nov. 26. All games will be televised on ESPN network channels.
