PORTLAND, Ore. -- A 16-year-old girl was shot early Wednesday morning in southeast Portland. The victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive, police say.

Officers responded to the report of a shooting at 2:07 a.m. in the area of Southeast 36th Avenue and Van Water Street. When they arrived, they found the girl suffering from gunshot wounds.

Investigators collected evidence from the scene. Police have not identified a suspect at this time.
