"Since members of our military and federal workers are having their pay withheld during this shutdown, Members of Congress should be treated no differently. I have requested that my paycheck be withheld for the duration of this shutdown."

Oregon Rep. Greg Walden has joined other GOP members of Congress in declining pay during the government shut down.

Walden tweeted a photo of his request to cut pay. It's identical to one used by Rep. Mark Walker (R-NC), in the form of a letter to Philip G. Kiko, the Chief Administrative Officer of the U.S. House of Representatives,

In addition to the letter, Walden tweeted the following:

"Since members of our military and federal workers are having their pay withheld during this shutdown, Members of Congress should be treated no differently. I have requested that my paycheck be withheld for the duration of this shutdown."

Walker released the following statement:

"As long as 100,000 active-duty servicemen and servicewomen based in North Carolina are defending our freedom with no pay, the very least I can do is lead by example," Walker said. "Today, I wrote a letter to the Chief Administrative Officer of the House refusing my salary as well. Our heroes deserve better than this."

Missouri congresswoman Ann Wagner also refused pay during the duration of the shutdown.
