Heavy rains flood school, streets in Washington County

A deluge flooded parts of Evergreen Parkway in Hillsboro until crews could clear a drain.

HILLSBORO, Oregon — High water on Northeast Evergreen Parkway in Hillsboro receded Monday evening after lanes were closed between John Olsen Avenue and Aloclek Drive.

Evergreen was also closed between Stucki Ave. and 106th avenues. Lanes were reopened after public utilities crews cleared storm drains.

Heavy rains also flooded the track, football field and a hallway at Westview High School. Athletes from Westridge and McNary scrambled into the school and helped place sandbags.
