TIMBERLINE, Ore. -- Plentiful snowfall at higher elevations has many people thinking ski season is right around the corner.
Timberline is opening seven days a week starting Friday, operating the Pucci and School Yard lifts, according to its website.

Many people were up at Timberline Lodge Thursday just to check out all the snow and maybe go for a few rides on a sled. Leila Coppernoll, 7, convinced her whole family to take the trip.
“Because I really want to come here and have some fun in the snow,” said Leila. “Because I haven't been here for a long time.”
Sled riders, snowball throwers, and snowboarders are not the only ones excited.
Thomas Butler, owner of Mountain Sports, says nearly every business on the mountain is either directly or indirectly impacted by ski season. He has been busy unpacking merchandise and putting on price tags. He says people are ready for ski season to start.
“People are fired up,” said Butler. “We had a couple kids stop by from McMinnville wanting to rent skis and I had to give them the news there weren't any lifts open.”
In addition to Timberline opening seven days a week Friday, Ski Bowl plans to open on Thanksgiving.
“I am very excited for ski season,” said snowboarder and Leila’s older brother, Adam Coppernoll. “It looks like a good year for snow.”
After last year, people are ready for another great year and some wish the season never had to end.
“I would be here for a million years,” said Leila.
