Snow covered Cascades highways Monday, about 1 to 4 inches at Government Camp and 3 to 7 inches at Santiam Pass.
Christmas Day should be partly sunny with a high of 45.
Ski areas got a huge dump of snow in the last several days, with 19 inches falling in 24 hours at Timberline Lodge and 18 inches at Mount Hood Meadows. Mount Bachelor added 14 inches in 24 hours.
The three resorts have base layer depths in the 50 to 60-inch range. Hoodoo Ski Area has a base layer of 25 inches. Mount Hood Ski Bowl has yet to open but reports a base layer of 25 to 31 inches.
