The metro valley will begin the day more dry than wet with all temperatures above freezing and a mix of breezy south winds and gusty east winds near the gorge, still blowing to 40 mph. A low pressure center offshore will send increasing rain our way this afternoon and this evening. As the low nears the coast, beach south wind gusts may reach 50 mph later today and valley south winds will blow 15-30 mph. Portland's high temperature will be near 50 degrees.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the Gorge through 10:00 am Thursday. Early reports show 1-2" of snow on the ground in spots. Most areas will warm above freezing during the day and hold above 32 degrees tonight. Strong east winds should start to calm later today as well.
Friday sees a period of steady afternoon and evening rain as a warm front arrives. Your weekend looks mostly dry Saturday and rainy on Sunday.
