An approaching warm front is bringing breezy south winds to the coast and valley. Strong east winds in the gorge have ended! Valley breezes today will be south 15-35 mph. The south wind will provide a mild day with valley and beach temperatures near 50 degree and above. Early gorge temps have cooled to 32 degrees, but will warm to 40 during the day.
The warm front will bring hours of steady rain, starting in Portland around the noon hour and lasting through the evening hours. Rain totals at the coast will exceed 1.25" and may reach near an inch in parts of the valley. The moisture will be all rain in the gorge, including Friday overnight. Snow levels today will rise to 5,000' and to 6,500' or higher tonight.
Look for a few Saturday showers, then increasing rain Saturday night and a few Sunday showers.
