After a dry start, a cold front will bring a period of steady rain to Portland, beginning around the noon hour and breaking into showers before 5:00 pm. Total rainfall today will average around .25 inches, snow levels will hold near 5,000 feet. The afternoon rain will hold valley temps in the 50s for a cool, wet start to Oregon's spring break. Look for breezy winds later today to 25 mph as the front pushes inland. Beach winds will gust into the 30s.
Saturday will see sun breaks and scattered showers. As afternoon temps warm, skies may darken, leading to spotty downpours with small hail. Dry weather is likely Sunday with developing sunshine warming Portland to 60 degrees. Snow levels tomorrow will be near 3,000 feet, meaning snow showers will be possible at Mt. Hood resorts.
Several weather systems next week will bring occasional rain and keep most days in the 50s for high temperatures.
