5.4 earthquake strikes off Oregon coast

The quake was about 260 miles off the coast, and there's no tsunami threat.

A 5.4 magnitude earthquake struck just before 7:30 a.m. on Friday, about 260 miles off the Oregon coast, according to the U.S. Geological Service.

The quake was 260 miles WNW of Barview, and 264 miles west of Newport.

There is no tsunami danger, according to the National Weather Service.

The quake was about 6 miles deep, according to the USGS.
