A four car crash closed the left and center lanes of Interstate 5 southbound at the State Route 500 exit for several hours Friday morning, according to Trooper Will Finn of the Washington State Patrol.

At least three people have been sent to a hospital following the crash shortly after 8 a.m.

The driver of the car that caused the collision has been cited for driving under the influence, Finn said.

The investigation is for what he described as "vehicular assault."

The interstate reopened late Friday morning.
