SALEM, Ore. – Orygone. It’s the pronunciation of the state that raises the blood pressure of all Oregonians.

Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders used the mispronunciation last week during a rally at Moda Center before quickly correcting himself.

And Oregon Gov. Kate Brown wants to make sure that mistake doesn’t happen again this weekend when the Oregon State women’s basketball team plays in the Final Four.

The Beavers’ Sunday game against top-ranked University of Connecticut will be broadcast to millions of people on ESPN. Since it’s Oregon State’s first trip to the Final Four, Sunday’s matchup will be an introduction to many people previously unfamiliar with the program.

So, Gov. Brown on Friday tweeted a short instructional video to help sportscasters correctly pronounce “Ory-gun.

The Beavers face undefeated UConn at 3 p.m. Sunday on ESPN. Hopefully the game will be “Orygone” free.
