Lifelong Blazers fan from NYC arrives in Portland for Game 3

After seeing his story on KGW, the Blazers offered to fly Roger Licorish out to Rip City for Game 3 against the Denver Nuggets.

PORTLAND, Ore. — A lifelong Portland Trail Blazers fan has arrived in Portland for Friday night’s home playoff game.

After seeing his story on KGW, the Blazers offered to fly Roger Licorish from New York City to Rip City for Game 3 against the Denver Nuggets.

When he was a kid, Roger wrote letters to every NBA team. Only one team wrote back: the Portland Trail Blazers.

Not only that, the team gave him a gift basket full of T-shirts, posters and more.

"When they wrote me back it was like they drafted me that night," Roger said.

Here’s a look at Roger’s time in Portland leading up to Game 3:

Roger arrived in Portland Friday morning with Lucy Martin, who made a video about his love for the Trail Blazers.

KGW's Maggie Vespa and Kurt Austin took Roger to Spirit of 77 for lunch.

Fans were even recognizing Roger at the Moda Center before the game!

This story will be updated throughout the day.
