OREGON CITY, Ore. — Friday night’s playoff game between Oregon City and Sunset looked like it would be a good match up.
The teams produced a game that no one expected.
Oregon City won the game 75-72. They combined for 147 points to tie the record set by Aloha and Lakeridge in 2012.
Pioneers head coach Dustin Janz said, “It was a lot of fun to do but nerve racking.”
The teams combined for more than 1,000 yards in total offense and 21 touchdowns. Oregon City junior Zakhayas Dennis-Lee rushed for 175 yards and scored four touchdowns.
“It was heard dropping most of the time. I’d say more scary than fun.”
Oregon City will play Clackamas Friday. When they played earlier in the season Clackamas won the game 57-27.
