With climate issues continuing to be in the headlines, KGW takes a look back at a special project that went way out in the field.

In November 2004, KGW chief meteorologist Matt Zaffino and photojournalist Karl Petersen joined the scientists at the Deep Ice Coring Project on Greenland’s ice sheet. Data from the project is intended to increase the understanding of the planet’s climate history and help project the climates future.
