PORTLAND, Ore. -- Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler on Thursday issued an executive order reassigning all city bureaus to his control during the process of city budget approval.
According to Michael Cox, Wheeler's director of communications, the decision to take control of city bureaus at the time he released his proposed budget was previously announced by the mayor. The budget is scheduled for release on Monday, May 1.
Once the budget is approved, the bureaus will be reassigned, Cox said.
