The May 15th primary ballot features five candidates for the Republican nomination and two for the Democratic, with incumbent Gov. Kate Brown the presumed nominee. (Candace Neville, who is also seeking the Democratic nomination, did not respond to an email seeking her pitch. And Republican Bruce Cuff, whose name is on the ballot, has thrown his support to Greg Wooldridge, who did not respond to our questions by deadline.)

Gov. Kate Brown, who is seeking the Democratic nomination, argues that she is able to bring people together, while Republican Rep. Knute Buehler says she's made 'big problems' worse. Other Republican opponents have their own ideas about how to, in the words of one, 'shake things up.'
