The Seattle Seahawks have posted a winning record in six straight seasons, a streak that NFL.com writer Adam Rank believes will end in 2018.

Rank talks about how the Seahawks have gotten rid of big personalities like Richard Sherman and Michael Bennett and mentions that Russell Wilson is now left with “a cast of . . . who is that?” He does acknowledge new running back Rashaad Penny could be a big factor for Seattle but says the team has “a different feel.”

In addition to Bennett and Sherman, the Seahawks also parted ways with tight end Jimmy Graham, receiver Paul Richardson, defensive end Cliff Avril and cornerback DeShawn Shead. Kam Chancellor possibly might not play this year and 2017 second round pick Malik McDowell is not expected to be on the team when the season begins.

However, the team has committed to building up the run game, with guard D.J. Fluker and tight ends Ed Dickson and Will Dissly all graded as excellent run blockers. Penny will be a big factor on the offense, but so will 2017 rookie Chris Carson, who was excellent when he was healthy last season.

The Legion of Boom and the rest of Seattle may have a new look but the Seahawks have added some pieces to keep them in the hunt heading into 2018.
