PORTLAND, Ore. – All day Monday, participating Mississippi Avenue businesses are donating a percentage of their proceeds to help the Columbia River Gorge recover from the Eagle Creek Fire.

The businesses in the popular shopping district will donate to the non-profit conservation group Friends of the Gore to help offset costs of recovery efforts.

Some diners at the popular breakfast diner Gravy were happy to have some of their money go to help the cause of rehabilitating one of Oregon’s most prized natural areas.

“I had no idea this was going on I’m super excited because we all love the gorge and if anybody can do anything It’s fantastic, said Kristi Greco, who happens to be the sister of the owner of Gravy.

The fundraiser runs until close of business Monday, and at shops and restaurants along Mississippi Avenue. Click here to see the list of participating businesses.
