Wheelchair trailer stolen from Milwaukie woman for second time

Yvette Elliott's trailer was stolen in the middle of the night Saturday.

MILWAUKIE, Ore. — A Milwaukie woman is left not knowing what to do after thieves stole her wheelchair trailer for a second time.

Yvette Elliott’s trailer was stolen in the middle of the night Saturday. It was the second wheelchair trailer that has been stolen from her. The first was taken just two months ago. She is devastated and does not know how she is going to replace it.

“I'm stuck,” Elliott said.

The trailer hooks to the back of Elliott’s van. It is the only way she can take her power chair with her to leave her house, so without it, she is stuck at home.

“I need this trailer, so I can get around to my doctor's appointments, to anywhere that I need to go,” Elliott said.

She is absolutely heartbroken over the theft.

“It's extremely frustrating,” Elliott said. “It's like the straw that broke the camel’s back, actually, because I have other stuff going on in my life right now and this, it almost made me feel like giving up and throwing everything away.”

When the trailer was stolen before, Elliott started a GoFundMe Page and was able to raise a little more than $400. She then kicked in about $400 of her own money to replace it. That was money she was saving for Christmas, so this time around, she really does not know what she is going to do.

The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating, but at this point they do not have any suspects. No one in the area had any surveillance footage either, so Elliott is really hoping someone who reads this knows something that will help her get it back.

If you know anything about the theft, call the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office.
