The eighth TEDxPortland event took place Saturday, April 21. TEDxPortland brought over 3,000 people together in the Keller Auditorium to hear a full day of speakers inspire, share knowledge and build community. KGW was proud to be a sponsor of this year's event.
The morning session featured Kevin Cavenaugh, Peter Cho, Ron Artis II, Colleen Yeager, Albert Chi, Hunter Noack and Thomas Lauderdale, Tyrone Poole, Mira Kaddoura, Tami Lynn Kent, and Tom Sachs.
The afternoon session featured the Oregon Symphony, Rick Turoczy, Portland Police Chief Danielle Outlaw, The Gay Beards, Edna Vazquez, Christopher Nichols, renowned journalist Ann Curry, and Renny Glesson.
Audience members used the hashtag #tedxpdx to share their experiences and what they took away from this year's speakers.
Prior to this year's event, KGW reporter and former Oregon Ducks quarterback Joey Harrington spoke at the 2016 TEDxPortland event. He sat down with Chris Willis to reflect on what that speech meant to him and why he loves the thought-provoking seminars.
