CLARK COUNTY, Wash. — A person piloting an ultralight airplane died in a crash in north Clark County on Monday morning.

Authorities later identified the man as Quin T. Banta, 58, of Clark County.

The crash happened at around 9:20 a.m. near Daybreak Airport, a private grass airstrip in La Center, Washington.

The small plane crashed several hundred yards from the runway in some brush along the East Fork of the Lewis River, according to the Clark County Sheriff's Office.
