BEAVERTON, Ore. -- A Washington County Sheriff’s Office motorcycle deputy was seriously injured in a crash with an SUV in Beaverton on Monday morning.
The crash happened around 11:05 a.m. on Beaverton Hillsdale Highway near Southwest 98th.
Investigators said the injured sheriff's deputy was riding westbound on the highway when a 29-year-old Beaverton woman drove out of a parking lot and pulled her SUV in front of his motorcycle, causing the crash.
The woman was cited for failing to yield.

The deputy, later identified as Mark Demmer, suffered serious injuries but is expected to survive, the sheriff's office said.
