PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland police arrested a suspect connected to a shooting that killed 29-year-old Trayontay Jones on April 19.
Willie Mitchell, 23, was arrested in Eugene on a warrant related to Jones' murder, police said. Mitchell was booked into the Lane County Jail and will be taken to Multnomah County.
Jones' family has been notified about the arrest.
On Friday, police were called near the Shake Bar on NW 4th Avenue for a disturbance around 1:30 a.m., and quickly found out someone had been shot. The bar was not open that night.
They found a man in the area with at least one gunshot wound, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as 29-year-old Trayontay Jones.
