PORTLAND, Ore — More than 80 businesses across Oregon teamed up to increase the impact of Earth Day.
They are taking part in a new initiative called Earth Day Oregon.
The businesses pledged to make a cash donation to Earth-focused nonprofits around the state.
Some are making simple cash donations, others are donating a portion of their profits.
For example, Keen is donating 15% of its sales this week to Wild Salmon Center. The group is working to protect a 17-mile stretch of the Nehalem River for recreation and fish.
Individuals can also make a donation through Earth Day Oregon.
