BEAVERTON, Ore. -- A man jumped from the third floor during a fire at the Commons at Timber Creek Apartments in Washington County's Cedar Mill neighborhood Wednesday morning.
Medics took the man to a hospital. Firefighters said his injuries were not life-threatening. His name was not immediately released.
Crews were dispatched around 10:15 a.m. to the complex in the 12000 block of Northwest Barnes Road.
The fire started on the second-floor deck of one unit and spread to a third-floor deck. Firefighters spent about 50 minutes putting out the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Firefighters said 10 of the building's 20 apartments are not habitable. Three children and 20 adults were displaced. Property managers and the American Red Cross are helping them with temporary housing.
A woman who lived in the apartment where the fire started suffered minor injuries.
