Human remains found in Linn County

Police said they have limited information on the remains that were found. The Oregon Medical Examiner's Office will identify the body and determine cause of death.

SWEET HOME, Ore. — Human remains were found in Linn County on Friday, police said.

A person called the Linn County Sheriff's Office around 1:40 p.m. on Friday to report that possible human remains had been found on US Forest Service Road 417, located about five miles up Gordon Road (NF-2044) and 13 miles east of Sweet Home.

Deputies secured the scene and investigators confirmed the remains were human. Linn County Search and Rescue and sheriff's office investigators worked the scene until Sunday night.

Police said they have limited information on the remains that were found. The Oregon Medical Examiner's Office will identify the person who died and the cause of death.
